Beer and Keyboards Don't Mix

I was sitting at my computer typing away when I reached for something. Suddenly, I felt a cold liquid start running down my legs. By then, it was too late. My keyboard was gone.

I foolishly had my beer (I’m not going to tell how many I had prior) right next to my keyboard and spilled the sucker. As I quickly unplugged my keyboard and attempted to blow-dry it free of liquid, my thoughts went for the worse. I had no way to type. Luckily Windows has the handy program called Charmap.

I called it a night and figured perhaps an evening of drying off would help the situation. When I got home from work tonight, my keyboard was still doomed. The “Q” key wouldn’t work at all, and the “F” key thought it was a “B” key. So if you would like some advice out of all this, do not spill beer on your keyboard. 🙂

I have now upgraded my keyboard to the ultra-blog classic. Okay, maybe the keyboard I have now is a little of a step-down. It has a PS/2 connection. The fact that there are still wired keyboards — and keyboards that still have PS/2 connections for that matter — was a little unnerving. I didn’t check to see if Wal-Mart still sold floppy disks.

Anyways, now I have a keyboard and can continue ranting and raving at anything and everything. Thanks for reading.

  1. Must be an epidemic. A popular Smoky Mountain fly fishing guide, whose website I check often, recently spilled scotch all over his keyboard and was relegated to posting his blog articles from the local coffee shop. I'm not getting alcohol any where near my wife's laptop.

  2. Wow.. u have issues… I told u to stay away from those intenet porn sites.. I think the real story is that you were wasted checking out girls gone wild (elderly edition) and you got too excited and knocked your beer on the key board… leave those old ladies alone!
