From a distance I glance,
I can’t help but to stare,
I’m life-less in a trance,
As wind blows through her hair.
She’s a dove in the sky,
A fine gem in the snow,
How I don’t like to spy,
But I do even though.
Her eyes let out a smile,
But at whom does she see,
She sits still for a while,
Then she looks straight at me —
Could we be together?

Your favorite song is playing on the radio as you drive on the freeway at a comfortable sixty-five miles an hour. The sun is behind you as the day finally comes to an end. The temperature in the car is cool, and your mind begins to relax. All seems well until a car cuts in front of you forcing you to slam on the brakes and change lanes in order to prevent a fifty-car pileup.

Birds are chirping in the background as the view of the yellow two-story house comes into view. The lawn is neatly mowed, the trees are well pruned, and the bushes are edged to perfection. The sun is shining brightly reflecting the positive energy the house has to offer. The peaceful scenario is interrupted by a loud sound coming from within the house.

Aisles of Loneliness

Weary, wrinkled, tattered — I sit among others.
An example, I am, of blunt imperfection.
Untouched with age, dust accumulates blanketing
The relief I harness as many venture on.

The disease, I call it, concerns the many passers.
Appearing helpless, they search; endlessly looking
For any comfort. Eyeing me, they stand disgusted
At my repulsive, unattractive appearance.

Sadly, I observe many leaving, unaware
That I possess the cure they so desperately need.

Two youths deep in conversation were observed in a fast food restaurant. The slight whispers, the dry laughter, and the raunchy dialogue of the two teenagers filled the silent restaurant. It seemed as if one teenager was in charge of the conversation. He was handing out stories to the other teen as if the stories were candy.

Clouds of veracity, I sink into never.
I haven’t seen your face in forever.
Eternal delight, I’m thinking in time,
The warmth of your touch and your hand in mine.
I look behind; in the distance you dance,
You smile and approach me as we indulge in romance.
You grab me and twirl me as we drift up real high,
Freedom and laughter, perpetually we fly.

Laying in bed, watching the clock,

I adjust my pillow, kick off my socks,

Bury my head, turn on the fan,

Get out of bed, gotta go to the can,

Turn on the TV, pop in a movie,

Crank the fan higher, maybe the breeze will soothe me,

Pull up the covers, turn off the TV,

I start thinking of Christ and what he wants me to be,

I might think of a girl, could it be her and me,

But my negative thinking blocks whatever I see.

My Better Half

Days pass , My heart goes out.

As my tears thicken in an endless pout.

Question after question I tend to ask,

When will I remove my dark veiled mask.

Will she like what she sees,

Will she cares what she sees,

Will her heart fill with me,

Or will she just turn and flee.

And if somehow, we ended up together,

Will it be a week long fling, or will it be forever.
