The Inevitability of Being Expendable

Without going into too many specifics, I’m about to start a new job function within a couple of weeks. I’m moving out of my office (and building) and going to work somewhere else. As I begin to pack up my cubicle, I can’t help but wonder if anyone is even going to notice I’m gone. I’d like to think that work at the office would stop if I wasn’t there, but I know that is just wishful thinking. Life will go on at my office. I’m expendable.
