I believe that we can all learn from each other, so I like to share what I've learned (or am learning), to try to help other people in their walk through life. Likewise, I enjoy reading other people's writings to learn from them. We all have unique circumstances and look at situations from our own perspective, and it pays to learn from others to help you see the big picture. We tend to see things as we are, more than the situation really is.

I'd also like to spark discussion at my blog, where we can give our different viewpoints and opinions, then consider all angles to learn more about life and each other. I don't see many logical debates anymore, and I wonder why. (I'm working on a post about that.) Currently there's not a lot of comments at my site, but a lot of people are finding it and some even look around and come back, so hopefully I'm helping some people in some way. But regardless of whether I see the fruit of my labor or not, I'm going to do what I can to help this world be a better place and to help people find their purpose in life.

Responding to Beppo's comment:

I guess a little bit of both. Sometimes I write for reference (such as City Stages) and hope others can benefit. Other times I just lay my thoughts out there on a particular subject and hope I've enlightened or enraged someone. I try to create as logically structured an argument as possible and list sources (as needed).

What do you want to accomplish with your blog? Do you have ideas that you want to share with the world, or is it just to write your thoughts out (like a diary)?

For me, I write on my blogs for others to benefit, and I also enjoy it, too. One of my blogs is mostly serious, where I try to encourage people to think more, to think "outside the box". It's called Beppo's Blog. On my other blog, Buffet o' Blog, I'm one of three writers, and the purpose is just to be random and funny. While it may seem like just a bunch of silliness at times, I think it's good for people to do original thinking and use their imagination. And it's also fun.

Jacob, I did post a topic under Topic of the Week General Discussion asking if there were any ideas for new topics. Did you reply under that?

If you don't like the communication topic, say so under General Discussion if you like. I'm sure you're not the only one that hates my topics. I thought Pam did a good job with her stereotype topic and nobody except me responded to that, yet the communications topic has about 13 replies. Weird. I let other people write topics of the week, but I need to control that forum for content's sake. The General Discussion, and Soapbox allows for anybody to post just about anything (guidelines being followed).

I should edit your comment to suit my taste :) - We only edit out sexual references and profanity. Occasionally we correct a spelling or grammar error.
