Good to hear from you Agent. After workplace conversations this week, it appears I'm alone in my position regarding the Kerry comment.

One thing that I'm not alone in is that politicians tend to blow somebody's comment out of proportion and distract the nation from more important issues.

Do the troops over in Iraq that are getting shot at care that Kerry may have said something negative about the troops? Possibly. However, I bet the Soldiers and Marines in Iraq have better things to do than bicker amongst themselves about a Senator from Massachusetts.

Had I been in the audience, probably would have still interpreted it as "do well in school, or you'll get stuck in Iraq." Only say that because of the way he apologized for the comment as a joke, and not a slam on Bush or mistake in words (e.g., "you" should have been "we" or "America").
What personally bothers me about Kerry is his lack of support for our Soldiers and their valuable nat'l/global security mission, and/or pulling the "as a Vietnam veteran hero" card. A hero in my book bears no resemblance to John Kerry. His career in politics was one misstep away from the trash. I won't miss him as much as the Republicans will; after their recent scandals he served as a good distraction. Sorry to sound so cynical... I'm frustrated politics has become so partisian and personal, while Soldiers die the brunt of jokes in a war those supporting it aren't.
To the Soldiers out there, you have my unconditional support and I'm thankful for your sacrifices in Iraq, in America, and around the world.
