I can’t stand most realty shows. My wife loves them (yes I’ll ask her to read this shortly); daily I have to suffer thru meaningless shows that provide no education – ahhh. I don’t think one of these shows is reality or even close – how many girls would really knowingly date some guy that was dating 50 other women? Have you seen Rock of Love or I love New York – what a reality joke. I wouldn’t recommend you waste your time but these shows are absurd – talk about making an idiot out of yourself on national TV, talk about not having any self pride or dignity.

Andy Warhol said, "In the future everyone will be world-famous for 15 minutes". He was obviously predicting the Reality TV.

It's beyond my understanding how can people humiliate themselves in front of millions of viewers like that.

I love the new colors and look of the blog. Most of the reality shows are so sad and degrading. We don't watch them.I agree with you I am not sure why they go on and degrade themselves so much.

I agree with you. There are a multitude of problems associated with Reality TV, but one big one is the humiliation to women. I have often asked myself why women would allow themselves to be degraded in such a way. I thought this is what women were fighting against, and here they are, struggling to see who gets to be the head moron. I find it to be absurd and not entertaining in the least. Ah well, at least it has encouraged me to read more. Take care,

Reality TV is one of the evils of the modern world. Count your blessings that it isn't as bad in the States as it is here. It never ceases to amaze me that people want to be on these shows. These shows are largely populated by nincompoops who spout moronic drivel, and to be on one reduces even the most seemingly sane and normal person to that level. It's not just women that portray themselves poorly on these shows.

The problem is that these shows won't go away. They are dirt cheap to make and produce and are very lucrative for advertising dollars. Advertisers benefit from the large audiences and TV studios benefit from high advertising rates due to ratings. Unless people suddenly tire of watching these, don't expect the networks to pull them.

I remember in Date Movie I think it was… a spoof movie, and there was a gag that was something like, "the next ladies who will get a shot" or something… and he took out a big ass gun and shot them all. Lmao.

But seriously? These reality TV shows are getting more and more absurd… I like The Biggest Loser as it's helping the people. Big Brother… eh, it's -very- light entertainment and it seems like "Big Brother" is running out of ideas (all these constant twists and depriving the housemates of commodities… it doesn't seem as ideal an experience as it was in the first year or two). Then theres all the dating ones, or the Princess ones… it really is a little bit too far.

I remember very well when Reality TV shows started popping up. I believe it started with Real World on MTV, but I could be wrong. Anyway, Reality TV has grown beyond perversion and is rather sickening to watch. I'm glad I don't have cable anymore.
