Castle Pictures from Germany

My friend cetroyer took some pictures of a castle in Germany. It is the Neuschwanstein Castle, which the Sleeping Beauty Castle at Disneyland is modeled after.

  1. What an amazing photographer! Wow! Ok, I'm kidding. :) I could be the worst photographer in the world and still get good shots of a beautiful location like that. :)

  2. Unless you had lens flare :)

  3. Amazing photographer indeed! :p Are you allowed to go inside?

I used to drool over such pictures when I was young, as a similar picture of a castle used to appear on "Staedtler" boxes which I could not afford then.

  4. OM gosh, the Castle is awesome! I don't suppose they gave tours? Guess not, I wouldn't want people gawking in my home. My granddaughters will love to see these pics! Thanks for sharing!

Yup, they have tours through part of the castle. I don't think it has even been lived in since Kind Ludwig died before it was completed. It is still mostly unfinished inside.

His parent's castle is a few miles away and fully furnished. I should have a chance to tour both of them in a week or two. :)

  6. cetroyer,

One of my co-workers said that King Ludwig was assassinated because he was spending too much money on his castles.

  7. ronalfy: who assassinated him, his family? ;)

    cetroyer:

Does that mean you are going there for a visit again to Germany? Wow, I rarely get out of Texas! lol … Send a postcard, k? ;)

Not really, Grandma. I currently live in Germany, so it's not very hard to visit. :)

  9. Sorry for the late reply Grandma. It is just a conspiracy, but it is rumored that his family drowned him because he was spending way too much money on his castles. Immediately after his death, the construction on his castles stopped.

  10. What a beautiful castle. They really knew how to build in the old days.

  11. Thanks for stopping by Vivien. I hope I get go to Germany at least once before I die. :)

  12. nice shots…you must really have a very good skill on photography…but i just wanna know if photographers or visitors are allowed to go inside and take some shots.
