The following is a guest submission from Haress about a WordPress plugin he wrote called IamMobiled Plugin. The plugin enables you to have a mobile theme for mobile browsers.
I would like to present a special mobile theme for mobile users called IamMobiled Mobile Plugin.
Here are some key features:
- Comes with a mobile theme called “Blue Heart”.
- Automatic mobile detection.
- Images are optimized for mobile view.
- Make $$$ through integrated ad system.
- Optimized for touch screen phones.
- Mobile users can leave comments.
- Mobile users can search for content.
Please check it out and let me know your feedback and suggestions at http://iammobiled.com
The plugin can be found at:

Editor Feedback (Ronald Huereca)
I have personally tried this plugin out briefly on this blog. The plugin acts like a regular plugin, except you must place the packaged theme into your WordPress themes directory (no big deal here).
I wasn’t that impressed with the packaged theme, especially compared to the theme provided by a similar plugin called WP Touch. My biggest peeves were the cluttered design, lack of whitespace, lack of contrast, and lack of styling for links.
As far as plugin settings go, there’s no settings as to what is displayed in the title bar. I clicked on the “About” button on my iPhone and was taken to a blank page. Weird.
There’s great potential for a plugin like this. I just recommend that future themes avoid page re-loads for the tabs, and that whitespace and contrast are used.

Hi Ronald,
Thank you for dedicating a post of my work. Since this is my first plugin I am in the process of learning. I did receive some complaints from some users receving “header not found” error when they installed my plugin. I fixed that.
After reading your feedback, you told “As far as plugin settings go, there’s no settings as to what is displayed in the title bar. I clicked on the “About” button on my iPhone and was taken to a blank page. Weird.”
That’s strange because I do have a setting under IamMobiled Mobile Plugin to change the order of pages to display on the main tab.
If you don’t mind, could you please set your mobile theme to mine so I can do some test to see why about page gives a blank page?
Thanks,
Haress

Sounds interesting. I’m relatively new to WordPress, and I never thought about adding the functionality to make my blogs more accessible for mobile users. However, it is a good idea as more and more people are completing online transaction while mobile.

Do you really need another plugin, especially for mobile? I just wonder how many mobile readers you will really get. Now if it works and takes very minimal resources, then I guess why not.

Very cool option! I wish there were user friendly plugins like that for Xsitepro. I may be drawn over to WordPress for my pages just yet.
Thanks for the heads up on this app.

Wow just great! Plug-ins like this for WP is just timely. Mobile device browsing seems to increase today and bloggers should be aware of this. I think this tool can be very useful.
