I Have Changed Hosts From Media Temple
The honeymoon is over. After changing to what I thought would be a reliable and fast host, I have decided that Media Temple is simply not right for me. For now, I am trying out a host called A Small Orange.
The support at Media Temple was stellar. Unfortunately, their up-time was not. I was sick of my readers e-mailing me telling me they were unable to comment and that the site was down. I was sick of seeing messages such as these (which ironically occured as I was changing hosts):

If you could, please let me know how you like the speed and reliability of this new host. Thank you.

The site’s loading speed is noticeably faster now. Hopefully, you won’t have to change hosts anytime soon again.

Two words: speed-y

Well, if you ever do need to switch again, I use IX Web Hosting and I have never had a problem; I’ve been with them almost 4 years. One time they were upgrading their servers and even with backup in place, all the sites they host went down for about 3 hours at around 2am, PST. They sent an email out appologizing (I never would’ve known had they not done this) and saying that if we wanted compensation, we should send in a help ticket. I did that and they gave me a MONTH of free hosting service.
Another website I maintain is hosted by Dotster. I’ve only been with this company about 6 weeks, but it’s great so far. HyTek Hosting is another good one. All these guys have good prices, too. Just make sure to compare because I think not all of them come with MySQL in the basic package.
One host I would warn you to flee at all costs is Web.com (also used to go by Interland). They are horrible in every way. We experience a ton of down time with them and when we tried to resolve any issues, their customer service was very poor. We were down for about 6 hours one day and they gave us a credit of $1. That’s when I switched the hosting over to Dotster.

It’s faster now, for sure. I wonder what the actual reason for the issue was, consider MT promotes itself as a service that reduces such issues.

@LaurenMarie,
I just now fished your comment out of Akismet. I’m sorry it took so long. Thank you for your comment and I apologize about the delay.
Thank you for your input regarding web hosts. Hopefully this one will work for me.
