Life is a Blog – Respect
Filed under Life is a Blog, Series
The Life is a Blog series is a series reflecting on my past year of blogging. The series aims to gather feedback from my readers in order to make improvements to my blog. You can find the rest of the series in the Life is a Blog category.
As with most things in my life, I try to remain respectful when interacting with others. People who know me well would tell you I have my good days and bad days. Furthermore, if you have “lost” my respect or trust, you’ll have a hard time getting it back.
I use to have the motto of, “I trust everyone until they screw me over.” Unfortunately, this motto is no longer true for me anymore. I try to respect people at first, but trust usually comes later.
Do you find that am I respectful to you on this blog? If you ever had a grievance, did I respond respectfully? How do you think I treat others and is there anything you would suggest to improve my interaction with others on this blog?

Glad you asked. You are very disrespectful to me on this blog, Ronald. But I guess I like being insulted and that’s why I keep coming here and not only reading but commenting to all your outrageous posts.
Of course, you are very respectful and I wish more bloggers were like you. Plus, you’re not just being respectful to your readers, you actually listen to what they say and follow up with them and even fulfilling some of their wishes.

hmmm…sounds like you’re hurt and inflexible, that might cause more pain. Smile, hopefully its not that bad. I have had to remember that people can only give me their best and if their best is infantile behavior then I smile feeling sorry they have never grown up. I hope I helped. –clau

I like your point about separating trust from respect.
So far, I have not had “grievances” on this blog, so I have had no issues so far. And yes, I have seen you act respectful to everyone on this site.
One way you can treat others with more respect is to tell them about other blogs, like mine. :p

Thank you all for your support.
@inspirationbit,
Thank you. I try
@clau,
I have been hurt and am somewhat inflexible, at least in my view points. I do try to keep an open mind though. I like your attitude by the way. I’ll have to remember that next time I encounter a person untrustworthy or someone who doesn’t deserve respect.

LOL!!! I was responding to get the flikr prize then felt really disrespectful and unworthy as a teacher to miss “you’re”, but now that my blog is up, I feel so much better!! LOL, joy, joy.

I fixed it clau. But I do have an “edit comment” feature that should work for you if you do happen to make a typographical error.

Ronald,
I’ve never seen you be anything but respectful on your blog.
Now when we use to work together, that’s another story. Always having me make you coffee, sending me on degrading errands like buying bagels and getting them to you heated to precisely 97.4 degrees, taking credit for my animation work, verbally abusing me just because Sanjaya is still on American Idol, etc. I may need counseling to recover some small bit of self-respect.
Just kidding, obviously. I’ve never known you to be anything other than respectful on your blog or in person. Take care,
Nathan

Just noticed I misspelled “bagels.” Sorry. Take care,

Nathan,
Don’t you know they make bagles in the south, and bagels everywhere else. Just like a shopping cart in the south is also a buggy, and referring to all soda is either a “pop” or a “coke”.
Besides that, I appreciate you stopping by. The latest post on angler had me rollin’. I can’t believe you’re still living after that one.

I definitely feel you are respectful on your blog, and absolutely no grievances with me. You have been nothing but helpful, entertaining, and interesting. Keep the faith!

A Humble one.. That’s why you deserved to be respected in exchange.
