Third Reader Appreciation Week Prize: A Flickr Pro Account
This contest is closed. Thanks to all who entered.
The third Reader Appreciation Week prize on this blog is a Flickr Pro Account. I will be giving away this prize on April 11th (2007).
Here’s how to win
If you go to the Flickr activation page, you’ll see that there is a code to enter. Here’s how to get the code.
- I will randomly select a winner from anybody that comments on this post and e-mail the activation code to that person later in the evening.
By the way, it might help subscribing to keep up with the posts. The reason I am requiring a comment is so I don’t spam a lot of people. I’d like to know people are interested in the prize before sending out a mass e-mail.
If you already have a Flickr Pro account, entering the code will add another year onto your plan for free.
The deadline for leaving a comment on this post is April 11th at 1800 CMT.
Thanks,
Ronald

Is Flickr sort of like Photobucket, or do they provide graphics or photos for blog or website use for a fee or free?

I haven’t used Photobucket, but Flickr can be used to store graphics for blogs. For example, I use my Flickr account to store some of the images for my blog (such as the recent castle and verdun pictures). I find this a little more flexible than my blog software since Flickr allows you to choose various sizes.
I also like Flickr because you can make gifts from your prints, add tags, comments, descriptions, titles, and more. Flickr also allows you to do photo sets (albums) and much more. I really enjoy the service.
If you really get into Flickr, you can join some of the Flickr groups and share pictures back and forth. For my purposes, however, I use it to store my photography and various pictures so family/friends can see them.

This is nice! I have a Flickr Pro account but I can apply it for renewals or give it to someone.

Is Flickr free? I’ve used Photobucket about 2-3 years now and save all my family photos and graphics there. It is free, but may not have all the features of Flickr, I’ll need to check it out. Thanks for letting me know.

Definitely Bes, if you win and don’t need it, you could do a challenge on your site and give it away, and i could enter. LOL, just kidding ronalfy.

hmm… perhaps the time has come for me to get an account on Flickr? After all, I hear nothing but praise for this social site.
I did get an account on Zooomr (since I wrote a post about its creator), but haven’t used it much since.

I’m interested! I have a lot of photos I’ve taken and been meaning to put online, plus I have a couple of blogs that could use more graphics.

Count me in like ugly on an ape. Or white on rice. Not that I’m ugly or white. Well, I am white. But not that white. that’s not what I meant anyway.

Shawn,
You should win just for the confusion you caused me with your comment.

Heck, why not … count me in.

I’ve been wanting to put some photos online, so friends and family could finally see pics from our family’s ‘important events.’ I just haven’t spent time looking at the options out there, but this would definitely help with the motivation!

I would love a Flickr Pro account, the free accounts don’t even store your originally sized photos, so count me in this contest!
