This contest is now closed. Thanks to all who entered.

I’m already giving away a fifty dollar Best Buy gift card just for subscribing to my feed. Now you can actually win a ten dollar iTunes gift certificate just for commenting. On Tuesday, April 10th, I will be giving away three $10 iTunes gift certificates.

Winners will be drawn randomly from anybody who has made a comment on this site since March 19th. The more comments you have made, the better the chances of winning. Please note that I will only allow one unique winner per iTunes prize.

In the event I am unable to contact the winner, a new winner will be selected. If no winner can be successfully notified, I reserve the right to withdraw the prize offers or offer the prizes on another website.

Just for the record, I will accept entrants in the Best Buy gift certificate drawing until April 8th at 11:59pm EST. To enter, all you have to do is subscribe to my feed and provide the code you see. All comments made before April 9th at 11:59pm EST will be eligible for the iTunes gift certificates.

I’m Getting Naked and You’re Going to Like it

April 5th is Naked Web Day. What this means is that for a 24 hour period, my site will be stripped and void of all style (appearance). It’s like a website taking off its clothes and baring all. Naked Web Day is to support web standards and a good semantic site structure. I have a few things to work on for next Year’s NWD, but I think that overall, I am prepared.

Does that mean it will be a no post day as well, or is that feature still available?

Do you mean as far as commenting? Every feature on this site should still be working, just the design will be stripped out. I’ll also try to post something tomorrow as well. If you are subscribed via the feed, you shouldn’t notice a difference.

If you all give me enough grief, I’ll turn it (the styles) back on, but the goal of Naked Web Day is to promote Web Standards.

Nope, no grief from me. I look forward to seeing how NWD works out on different sites.

I hope it doesn’t turn out like something that happened to my husband in high school. One day, my dh friends told everyone to wear combat boots to school on a certain day, that everyone in their group would be wearing them. So, here he comes one day wearing his dad’s black combat boots to school and this whole group of guys is standing around laughing wearing their regular shoes. Well… turns out it was a joke on him only and he had nothing to change into and had to wear them all day. This was the late 60’s, so not exactly something youth were doing in that time period. He had people pointing and laughing at him all day. Poor guy! ;)
