I agree with you so much. I am the same boat, if that’s the correct expression. I get really annoyed with all the text messages coming to my phone, and I do try to answer some of them. Maybe I should quit answering, then people may stop sending them to me. I just hate writing on my phone. It is, as you said, much easier to use mail. And that’s what I prefer. Cheers. – Ray J.

I totally agree with you. My beef with texting is that my plan charges me $0.20 per text (incoming/outgoing). But again I have never sent out or received $5 worth of texts. But I have two friends (in particular) — one who likes to text me random tid bits and one who won’t stop texting me even when I told him not to. I don’t mind a text if it’s for something important. Otherwise I prefer people emailing or leaving me voice mail. Plus I think getting random texts is just plain annoying.

Texting is gay. Why not just call the person? Have we resorted to pushing buttons everytime a meaningless thought enters our noodle?

I have to say I’ve been scouring the internet for a solution to the conundrum of this “text messaging”, and after reading your paragraph here, I just want to say that I completely agree with you and I am going to call verizon and have them shut off this damn texting. I give my friends my phone number only to turn on my phone and see “new text message”. They are my friends with no intentions of hurting me…but this “text messaging scam” is just crap.

You do have a point, Jacob, about us wasting money on other things like food and wasting things we buy also. However, because we do not eat everything off our plate, does that mean we should not focus at all on how much we waste in other areas of our life? Just because I do not like eating tomatoes and onions and green toxic waste that everyone calls “veggies” all the time does not mean I will also buy a 1000 text messages per month plan when in reality I use about 300 or so text messages a month.

By the way, I am finally getting convinced that green is good for me, so my plate is getting cleaner every month as of late.

You’re always one to bring me crashing back down to Earth. It’s the principle of the matter. Why pay five dollars for what encourages people to use the cellphone provider’s network less? If anything, cellphone companies are saving money by people text messaging. What gives?

I know this may come as a shock but the computer has now evolved to your cell phone and other hand held devices… Not everyone likes to stay at home and look at computers all day (your gay)…. So go with the flow.. Upgrade that cell phone… c’mon what is 5 dollars.. cheap ass… Hey you buy food all the time and don’t eat everything on your plate… We as American’s are the kings of waste… so join the club.. waste that money!
