Almost Getting Jacked
“I don’t need a ride.” I said politely to my boss Mr. Britt after work had ended at Walgreens. After work I went to the nearby Albertsons to do some grocery shopping. The time was about 11:15 at night when I began the walk home.
My groceries consisted of the normal healthy college student stuff. Pop-tarts for breakfast, Chef-boy-ardee for dinner, Hormel Chili, and Stouffers Lasagna for special occasions. After checking out, I went to the in-store atm to assess the financial damage. I withdrew about seventy dollars in cash so that I could owe back my roommates. I put the money in my wallet and left the store.
I began my walk home, which was a half-mile away. Just into my walk, I noticed two mexicans walking towards me. They both wore similar clothing. They both had on black bandanas, black and white plaid shirts, and similar pants. I knew they were up to no good, yet I couldn’t avoid them without crossing the busy street.
